i am not one of those people who remember dates well, so i don't exactly remember the last time that i saw janet jackson in concert...
what i do remember is that every time that i saw her, i left loving her even more..
and on monday when i saw her at the chicago theatre, it was like seeing an old friend who had matured and grown into a confident woman.
this time out, janet has put together a show that for one is jam packed with all the songs that we have come to love...
seriously, the only songs that i loved that she did not sing were dream street and the magic is working.
(are you a real janet fan? do you know these two songs? click the links for the videos!!)
and yes i know, its because they were not number ones, but as a young girl these songs and janet were everything to me...
she was the only ME that i ever really saw in the media.
my entire bedroom wall was covered in her pictures.
and seeing her now, so still on her game, just made me smile...
while there were moments in the show filled with her greatest hits and fueled with the choreography that cemented them in our memories, janet also put on a beautiful dress and killa louboutins and sat on a stool and sang ballads to us...
it was a beautiful thing..
(shout out to my girls K and G who were able to get way better pics than me and allowed me to use them in this post!!)
